María Muñiz

María Muñiz is a Mining Engineer who graduated from the Polytechnical University of Madrid. During her years studying at the School of Mines, she worked and collaborated in three different educational innovation projects associated with EIT RawMaterials, an innovation community of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.

During her years at university, she also helped develop and implement MEITIM, a master's program focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, and new technologies in the raw materials sector. In addition, she participated in the creation and development of two workshops together with two other European universities: LUT in Finland and in Poland.

María began her master's degree in mining engineering in 2021, and while there, she interned at IGME (the Spanish Geological Institute), where she studied geotechnical engineering and tailings dams. She also spent 3 months researching dam breaks and static liquefaction.

She joined Geosyntec Iberia in 2023, where she works in both Iberian and pan-European mining and tailings projects. She is also a member of the firm’s European mining team.
