Gala Roca Andreu

Gala Roca Andreu is a Geologist who specializes in geotechnical analysis and who graduated from Complutense University of Madrid. Gala has 5 years of experience in geotechnical studies for civil works and geological mapping applied to civil works, sedimentological studies, and mining projects.

She joined Geosyntec Consultants in 2024 and is part of the Iberian team focusing on tailings storage facilities (TSF) projects, mainly in the Alcoa San Ciprián TSF (upstream and modified centreline facility). She also supports mining projects in Europe.

Gala specializes in the direction, coordination, and supervision of large fieldworks campaigns, including boreholes, test drilling, test pits, DPSH, in situ testing, and monitoring of geotechnical monitoring elements. In addition, she has participated in the drafting of geotechnical reports mainly for the Community of Madrid and Madrid City Council. Gala has participated in civil engineering studies for railways and roads for INECO, ADIF, and other clients. For some of these projects, she has carried out geological mapping and geomechanical stations for the characterization of the massif. She also has experience in sedimentological studies for the Ebro River Basin Authority.

Gala is a trained technician in contaminated soils and has participated in several environmental studies for clients including the Madrid City Council, where she was involved in conducting fieldworks campaigns for investigation and remediation and helped draft reports.

Recently, she has begun to support mining projects by participating in the geotechnical studies for raising projects in RSA.
